Ebook About
Years ago we spent seven minutes in heaven, locked in a closet. Now Dante Crowne and I are hidden away in his remote cottage. And he wants much more than seven minutes. He wants everything.***All I needed was a place to hide from the paparazzi. My best friend has just the place. No Internet. No phone. A deep bathtub I’m soaking in when HE shows up.My best friend’s brother--broody, solitary Dante Crowne. Rich as a cardinal sin and handsome enough to piss off the devil. A man with a reputation for unforgettable bedroom games. And after those seven minutes in a closet, I can tell you they’re all true. His first instinct is to kick me out, but the memory of those seven minutes inspires him to make me an offer. If I want to stay, I have to work.If I make a mistake, I’ll be corrected with pink hand prints on my backside. That’s the deal. I can beg for it or leave it.I’m not sure which of us is more surprised when I get on my knees. Even more shocking? How much I like his punishment. But we can’t stay in paradise forever. Los Angeles awaits. And when an old nemesis sets his sights on tearing us apart, Dante may be the one left begging.

Book Crowne Rules: Forced Proximity Standalone Review :

There is no question that C. D. Reiss writes with the touch of a master. I have never been disappointed in any book I have read by her. This book is another notch in her repertoire of brilliant works. And as such, my comments are not so much a review, but more a small exposition of my thoughts and delights in her juxtapositions, word play and capture of multidimensional characters. The plot for this story is really quite simple and bare bones. All the tension that keeps the reader on tether hooks and turning the pages occurs between the two main characters, Dante and Mandy. The brilliance of a wildly creative sexual mastermind with meticulous detail to setting the stage while engaging all the senses of the reader is the alchemy in crafting a story our author wields in her pen. The main characters are broken, sexy, stubborn, attracted to each other but do not want to be and enjoy sexual games. It seems as if I'm describing any number of books written by any number of authors. But no. In this book the emotional mess is believable and relatable. The shifts in thinking and action surprising and believable. The epiphanies are thought through and believable. The therapeutic pleasure/pain power exchange in the sexy BDSM play is believable. I suppose what I am getting at is these complicated dramatic characters are written so well they are believable and they satisfyingly hold our interest and carry the story. They are the story. And there is more, because Ms. Reiss is an artist there is woven on the narrative lovely metaphor and symbolism. It was particularly poignant to me when Mandy was inspecting the crawlspace in the attic while Dante walked the roof. When you read this, I'm certain you will notice how this mundane event leads to a significant epiphany for Mandy.Lastly, I sometimes think reading Ms. Reiss' sex scenes are dangerous. They are so intensely hot, cunningly creative, relentlessly arousing...makes a woman think where are these men who can make you feel like this? At least we know, we will always find one in the pages of a C.D. Reiss book!
I didn't realize how much I needed Dante's story until I started reading Crowne Rules. From the first pages, CD Reiss kept me spellbound with this passionate and emotional story of iron-willed control and the freedom of giving it up to the right person.Dante and Mandy have a rocky relationship, held together only by mutual family and friends. A brief teenage encounter shaped their worlds in ways they never imagined. As an adult, Dante has a preconceived notion of who Mandy now is--a vapid and vain woman of little substance and questionable purpose. When Mandy's world comes crashing down very publicly, the Crowne family offers her an escape in the form of their small drama-free, internet-free Cambria cabin, unbeknownst to Dante. She's an unwelcome guest in his life, and he does his best to drive her away, though the pull of Mandy is so hard to resist. Lord have mercy, we all need a Dante in our lives! He is alpha-male perfection.Mandy is floundering in the chaos that's become her life. Reinventing herself is one option, but is that even an option, and where does she begin? Until their forced proximity, she never realized that Dante may have the broad shoulders and firm hand that could help guide her into becoming the best version of herself. She's stronger than she thinks, and she gives back as good as she gets. This couple wades their way through misconceptions and doubt, through acceptance and self-discovery. Neither character finishes the story in the same way they started, and I loved their evolution. I especially loved their epilogue...swoon...This is a standalone in the Crowne family series, and can absolutely be read on its own. But why would you not want to meet Dante's brothers too!?
